DIY Playdough safe for babies

Hello, all welcome back to another blog post. Today I am sharing a fun and easy playdough DIY that I recently tried during this quarantine time.

During this time, I found myself looking into fun different ways of incorporating activities that will help not only entertain my baby but help him with his development, learning and sensory skills.

Playdough has many benefits including the development of fine motor skills, strengthening hand-eye coordination.

With this is easy to make recipe its safe for babies of all ages. We hope you enjoy it and hope you give this a try. If you do decide to try this, please tag us @rewrittenperfectly on Instagram.


1 cup of flour

2 tsp cream of tartar

½ tbsp cooking oil

1 cup of water

Food coloring  


Mix food coloring with your water first. Then add the vegetable oil and water with food coloring to a large pot. Add the dry ingredients to your pot and mix well. Cook over low to medium heat until the dough starts to form and becomes dry. Once it starts to form a ball take off the heat. Once cool, knead for 5 minutes please store in an airtight container.


My only tip is if you want a stronger color maybe adding more color. We used our playdoh tools which worked amazingly. 🙂

My 30 before 30 Bucket List

Hello, all welcome back to another blog post :). Today I am posting my 30 before 30 Bucket List. Since I am currently a few weeks before turning the BIG 3-0 I wanted to post my bucket list and see how much I have accomplished and what I yet to complete. I have seen some posts around about turning 30 and their goals and I have decided to share mine. 

  1. Graduate College- (2010,2013,2015 were all my graduation dates from Associate’s degree, to my Bachelor’s degrees.)
  2. Dye my hair a fun color (Red, Blonde, highlights were all done on my hair)
  3. Crochet items- (Two twin size blankets, 4 mini blankets, booties, a sweater for a baby.)
  4. Visit Mexico- Went and had an incredible time, visited several places in Mexico
  5. Visit Florida- Had an amazing time in Florida. Got to experience how people live there different from New York.
  6. Have a baby/ start my own family- Started my family with my fiancé who we’ve been together for 10 years. I love my son and our little family. 
  7. Go to the movies alone- Enjoyed this experience did it several times, this wasn’t awkward at all.
  8. Go out to eat alone- Loved my own company eating alone had time to reflect and nobody notices nothing everyone is consumed in their own lives. Everyone should try this at least once.
  9. See a Broadway show- West Side Story was great on Broadway. I heard there making a new one looking forward to seeing it.
  10. Go camping- I have gone camping once and it was an interesting experience. For someone who doesn’t like bugs, I am proud of myself for trying and facing all that was thrown my way :).
  11. Volunteer- I have volunteered in several different ways and will continue to do so. Walked for causes, donating time to the elderly, donating clothes, coat drives. In 2020 I would like to do a back to school backpack drive and a toy drive for children. 
  12. Own a pet- I had an amazing dog named Bucca who sadly passed away September 2, 2018. Had her for 11 unforgettable years will always be thankful for her. 
  13. Read 50 books- I can proudly say that in the past 10 years I have read approximately a little over 300 books in both Spanish and English.  
  14. Have family pictures taken-  We have been doing good so far.
  15. Take better care of my health- I have been working on taking better care of my health. Health is wealth.
  16. Get rid of 30 things in 30 days-  I have been working on throwing things out several times it helps with clutter. 
  17. Rekindle an old friendship- I reconnected with a college friend who I haven’t spoken to in 10 years :). 
  18. Make new friends- I have made some amazing new friends
  19. Hug more-  lots of hugs have been given and many smiles follow. 
  20. Host my own Thanksgiving- Hosted Thanksgivings in 2017,2018.
  21. Start a blog – Rewritten Perfectly est. 2018
  22. Plan my 30th birthday party- Currently planning a great birthday having my best friend coming over from Texas to celebrate. Stay tuned for all my 30th birthday event. And also we will be celebrating it in small with family. 
  23. Host a craft party for moms and kids- Looking forward to sharing all of the mommy and me moments I have done so far and the ones we have coming soon :).
  24. Keep a plant alive- Currently have two plants that were gifted to me that are thriving 🙂 hoping it remains that way.
  25. Go outside your comfort zone-I have had a lot of growth when it comes to coming out of my comfort zone, which has helped tremendously with feeling anxious.
  26. Build your own values- This is important for me especially since I now have a little family of my own.
  27. Learn who your true friends are- One of the best lessons I have learned was to learn who my true friends are. 
  28. Smile more- Smiling a lot more these days. Since becoming a mom I find that seeing life through my son’s eyes gives me a reason to smile more.
  29. Ignore what others say about you- This too has been a valuable lesson I have learned. What others say about me is absolutely none of my business. 
  30. Parent your child the way you feel is best not what others may impose on you- I have successfully have been doing this since the day my son is born. 


After going through all of my 30 before 30 bucket list, I realize I have accomplished most if not all of it. I look forward to making new accomplishments to work on in the new decade I am about to embark on. What will your new goals be? What is your Bucket list for the next decade? My goals in 2020


Hi, all welcome to the very first blog post of 2020. Happy New Year! Today’s blog will be a fun one I will be sharing my 20 goals in 2020.

  1. Find a good balance with work, family life, and my health – This is basically me figuring out how many hours a week I can put into everything, without it having a detrimental effect on my health. Being a new mom has had its challenges when it comes to figuring when to say no or ask for help, this year I want to make sure I find a balance.
  2. Achieve my current fitness goals- My current fitness goals are to work towards a healthy lifestyle, make healthier options, and walk more.
  3. Clear credit cards- There’s not a lot of debt on my credit cards, but it is always good to keep debts in check.
  1. Make a family album- All of my special moments have been captured on my iPhone and stored online. This year I want to print out all of my pictures make photo albums for the past 10 years (stages in my life University graduations, pregnancy and delivery of my baby boy, his first year of life and all of our adventures.) 
  2.   DRINK more Water- I need to definitely drink more water which is crazy I used to drink lots of water before and now not as much. I know how important water is to our bodies and skin therefore it’s a goal of mine.
  1. Write what I am grateful for in a journal- I love this idea. I know this will give me a lot more perspective when I am having bad moments just to reflect on all that I have to be thankful for.
  1. Create a stockpile- I’ve done this several times especially when it comes to my baby boy’s things (diapers, shampoos, body wash, etc.) but I would like to expand my stockpile when it comes to several areas of my household. 
  1. Declutter- After the holidays so many things came in and it’s time to start decluttering and creating donating piles, giving away to family or friends before throwing them out.
  1. Go outside more- Even if it’s only 15 minutes sunlight is important as well as getting some fresh air including in the fall and winter months. I want to make even more of an effort in taking my baby during the winter outside for a stroll around.
  1. Schedule in self-care time- I want to be working/ functioning at my highest potential therefore, I want to make sure I schedule in self-care time for me and stop placing myself last. (This includes getting enough sleep, water, good health nutritious foods, exercising and having fun/ relaxing.)
  1. Read more at least 36 books this year- I love to read and this year I want to read more books including listening to audible books as well. (This is also a goal for my baby boy. I want to read him a book AT LEAST each day this year. And in order to keep track 🙂 I have come across a really cool reading log which I will track for each book I read to him.)
  1. Journal at least 2x a week- I want to journal and just have something to reflect on when I look back next year. Like the saying goes “if you don’t write it down, you’re going to forget it all. I don’t want to forget”
  1. Speak to cousins/ family/friends and start new traditions for my family (and stick to them)- I am such a sucker for traditions I always say I would like to try them and love when I see families do it. I have decided this year I would like to actually figure out how to delegate it. Example: I would like to host Valentine’s Day party with some friends and their children. I would love to host my second Thanksgiving but do it more like a” Friendsgiving lunch/dinner” 
  1. Host dinner parties with friends/families- Make them themed create traditions as well for the holidays, and even celebrate birthdays.
  1. Birthday & Holiday Cards- I would love to start personalizing them again and the best way to do it is if I actually add them into my calendars now! I did create a Christmas card for my son’s first Christmas but this past year eh we didn’t. I would like to start adding this, so I can send out personalized cards throughout the year.
  1. Say YES more- I’ve been known to say no to things and while it’s made me feel good about it. I think it’s important for me to say Yes to invites so in 2020. I will be saying YES, a whole lot more J.
  1. Create an emergency preparedness kit- We should always be prepared for all sorts of emergency situations, therefore, I have officially completed this one J. If it’s something you’d like to see let me know I will be more than glad to share. I would like to share that this would be a good time to check on your emergency stockpiles, any emergency items that you have including flashlights, water, emergency car kits.
  1. Build a better budget- In building a better budget I will be able to be consistent with it instead of doing what I have done in previous years of giving up after a few months.
  1. Join a club- I would like to join a club so I could socialize and interact with others as well as starting a new hobby.
  2. Start practicing recycle, reuse, reduce plastic- I would like to contribute when it comes to reducing plastic and helping the earth. It comes with education and research I would like to know what I can do to help. If you know any sites or organizations, I would greatly appreciate it.
  3. Plan a vacation- According to research women who vacation at least twice a year have a lower heart attack risk than those who rarely do. Therefore this 2020 I would like to book two vacations.
  1. Switch up my routine from time to time- This goal of mine is one in which is to switch up my routine this would lead me from being conformed to the typical day-to-day.

I am grateful​ for my friend

Hello, all welcome back to another blog post. Today is my first blog post on gratitude series which I will be doing for the month of November. I came across this beautiful little gratitude jar filled with prompts from Target and decided to start gratitude journal here on my blog.

Today’s pumpkin was titled “My friend”

This pumpkin made me think of my friend Sam. I am grateful for our friendship. She has shown me what a true friend is and no matter what time of day it is she is always there. Samantha has been an important friend in my life. We have known each other for close to 10 years. She’s a caring friend who will always be there for anyone and everyone she embraces. No matter what, you have loved me through it all. You have loved me on my bad days when my world seems like it’s falling apart, and I don’t even want to be bothered it’s to you I run to for advice and vent to. Thank you for being the shoulder to cry on and the person who actually motivates me to push forward. As a new mom Sam being an amazing mom to a young adult son has taught me so many things about the journey to motherhood and just how precious our sons mean to us. Today I am grateful for her no matter how far away she lives we are very close and one phone call, voice text, video away. Thank you, Sam, for all you do for us I love you so much and appreciate having you in my life.

I hope today you all can sit back and reflect on a friend your grateful for. Let them know how much they mean to you and just how much you appreciate having them in your lives.

Mask Monday

Hello all, welcome back to another Mask Mondays. Today’s mask I wanted to try a DIY face mask that targets pores. Although I do not have large pores, I do notice some of them, especially around my nose and chin area.


  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • A splash/ squeeze of lemon juice (you can also use lime juice)

Egg whites and lemon have astringent properties that will tighten the skin and make enlarged pores shrink. The honey is an important ingredient in this recipe because it will boost your skin with moisture which is highly needed in these cold/ fall days.  My thoughts after trying this face mask were that I loved it 🙂 it truly does work my pores were pretty much non-existent and I did feel my skin a little tighter and brighter. Highly recommend this recipe.


For my hair, I decided to give my hair some extra tender loving care and go with a DIY hair mask which is great for my fellow curly hair ladies & gents.


  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Combine all the ingredients and blend them. It’s important to apply this mask in small sections to clean, damp hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap to seal the heat for 30-60 minutes then shampoo and condition your hair as usual.  I absolutely love this hair mask it made my hair feel a lot more hydrated my curls were frizz-free and I did not feel any greasy residue afterward. I highly recommend you all giving it a try and use every few weeks.

For my lips, I have been using a lip balm from Dr. Bronner’s organic peppermint. This leaves my lips feeling soft and hydrated.

Advice and Hacks for new moms

Hello, all 🙂 welcome back to another mommy tip Monday today I am going to discuss a few moms hacks and advice I’ve learned along the way and some which have been passed down to me. 

  1. Pack your extra set of clothes in a plastic Ziplock bag- I keep my sons extra set of clothes in a large Ziplock bag in case he has an emergency I could put the dirty clothes in the Ziplocks bag without having to worry about carrying an extra bag for it. 
  1. Place fresh diaper underneath the baby before changing the baby’s diaper- I have noticed a lot of moms do diaper changes differently and it wasn’t until a friend of mine did it in front of me did I tell her how quick the clean-up would be. I have always changed diapers this way since before having my son and it’s saved me from dirtying anything and changing my baby on different surfaces without using a changing pad at times. While a changing pad is always recommended, I sometimes can’t get to it. 
  1. Wash or drench poop stained clothes immediately- In order to prevent poop stains, you need to wash them immediately with cold water, you could also use stain remover let it sit then wash immediately. I also like to use a little bit of white vinegar I have found it helps with smell and stains. 
  1. Roll onesie up over baby’s arms during diaper change- If you find that your baby sticks their hand into the dirty area simply rolling their onesie over their arms will prevent them from doing so. Also helps prevent them from getting dirty. * I just recently heard this hack. Hopefully, it helps you. *
  1. Have a portable diaper station- This hack I have used from time to time. I typically keep a diaper station when I am in the living room or downstairs away from the baby’s nursery room. This keeps me from having to rush upstairs when I have to change baby. I also store things like hand sanitizer, wipes, diapers, changing pad and even a set of clothes for just in case. This is practical and you don’t even really need a changing table if you don’t have space for it. 
  1. Avoid using your changing pad cover during blowouts- This will prevent you from contaminating your changing pad cover also, it’s easier to disinfect since changing pads are plastic material nothing seeps in and all you do is spray and wipe without a worry. 
  1. Live in the now- Stop worrying about the to-do list, laundry loads that need to be done. Enjoy your baby now live in the moment and create memories. I used to struggle with this for a few months and now I am perfectly fine sitting on the floor and hanging out with my baby.
  1. Stick to an early bedtime routine- Not only is sleep important for your baby and you. This will allow you to have time to relax and rest for the next day.
  1. Trust your instincts- Whenever you feel something is wrong with your baby to go with your instinct. Never hesitate to take them to the doctors for a check-up or whatever your gut says. 
  1. Let your partner take over- This is going to be one of the most important things to do as a new mom. Not only is it healthy for your baby to bond with their father. In my case in allowing my son bond with his dad during the evenings, he gives him his last bottle of the night while I shower and relax which is greatly appreciated. I also have a few hours in the day when they both play together while I cook dinner, clean up and do things without having to worry about the baby.

Fall 2019 Bucket list with my toddler

Hello, all 🙂 welcome back to another blog today I am sharing our Fall 2019 Bucket List. It’s officially FALL 🙂 sweater weather, chillier nights filled with football and soccer. This fall my son and I will be tackling our bucket list one by one and capturing the moments and sharing it right on this blog. Stay tuned 🙂 hopefully, you and your little one can join as well.  Below is our bucket list :).

  1. Nature walks around our neighborhood- Allow my son to see the changes in our outside leaves changing its colors and also the chilly weather.
  2. Go pumpkin picking
  3. Give the pumpkin a bath- (Saw this on a toddler website and thought it was a pretty cool experience to try.)
  4. Paint a Pumpkin
  5. Make a Halloween card for family and friends
  6. Make a Thanksgiving family card
  7. Play hide and seek with glow sticks- We’ve played with glow-sticks before and am looking forward to doing so this fall weather.
  8. Visit a  local farm
  9. Visit the zoo
  10. Collect the leaves we collect in our outdoors walk
  11. Paint leaves using the leaves we collect from outside
  12. Visit a fire station- Call the fire department prior to going and take pictures of the experience.
  13. Go on a walk in the rain
  14. Visit the library
  15. Have a Halloween cookie decoration party 
  16. Stay in our Pajamas all day and watch movie
  17. Fall Fingerprint tree
  18. Build a fort
  19. Apple picking
  20. Apple art
  21. Visiting 2 more museums
  22. Do a few crafts for Halloween and Thanksgiving
  23. Try hot chocolate for the first time (for baby)
  24. Have a playdate

Mask Monday

Hello, all 🙂 welcome back to another Mask Monday. It’s officially Fall 🙂 chilly, sweater weather one of my favorite seasons. I will miss summer being able to enjoy the outdoors and exploring with my son yet I am excited about all the new memories we will create.

This week’s Mask Monday I have decided to give yet another DIY all-natural hair mask a try. This one if for Brittle hair. I don’t know if its postpartum hair or if it’s just damaged by the sun hair that I have. The mask is a simple one just like the previous ones I have tried with two ingredients Milk and Honey.

Milk and honey hair mask                                                                                                                  2 tablespoons of honey mixed with ½ cup of room temperature milk. Some helpful tips are to make sure your two ingredients are thoroughly mixed before putting it all over your hair. You are going to evenly pour it into your hair and allow it to sit for an hour. Once this mask is done you can wash and condition with the shampoo or conditioner of your choice.

For my face, I wanted to try another DIY natural face mask as well. I have been wanting to try masks that have ingredients in which were in my kitchen and am able to do myself. (I am starting to gravitate towards a healthier/ more natural route.)

Honey Citrus Mask

Combine three tablespoons of orange juice with a quarter cup of honey. Rub the mixture lightly over your face and then leave it on for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes up rinse your face with lukewarm water. Moisturize shortly after. This honey citrus mask is perfect for giving your skin a brighter, glowy skin.

I loved this natural face mask it smelled amazing and did give my skin a natural healthier glow.

Mask Monday


Hello all 🙂 welcome back to another Mask Monday.

For my hair, I am using a deep repair masque by Macadamia. My hair is in desperate need of a deep conditioner and some repair. I recently went to the hair salon and the hairstylist mentioned my hair is on the more dryer side. She did do a minimum trim and recommended I look for more deep repair types of hair masks. And instead of doing them once a week to do it twice a week.

Macadamia masque smells amazing and has benefits which include providing deep nourishment and ultra-conditioning hair restoration, does not weigh your hair down. I left my masque for 10 minutes before rinsing it out with lukewarm water as mentioned in the packet.

For my face, I went with a blueberry and yogurt face mask- soothing cream facial mask which moisturizes and hydrates skin. This mask smells just like blueberries and has antioxidants which help your face in looking youthful and healthy.  I loved how easy it was put on my face.

I did get some recipes of healthier natural alternatives for hair and face masks in which I will be using starting next week (I have to pick some ingredients up). So, look out for my DIY natural face mask Mondays and how much I like them vs the ones I have purchased.

Mask Monday

Mask Monday

Welcome back to another Mask Monday 🙂 it’s officially starting to feel like Fall over here. Although I am missing summer, I am glad for Fall weather. However, what I wasn’t expecting is to see how much damage my hair has suffered in the summer months even with weekly hair masks.


For my hair, I decided to do a DIY hair mask for damaged hair: Olive oil and avocado hair mask. Olive oil is full of omega-3 fatty acids and it’s going to play an important role in my hair growth, shine and strengthening my hair. Avocado provides proteins and healthy fats which will promote overall healthy moisture to my damaged dry hair as well.



Ingredients are as follow:

  1. 1 ripe mashed avocado
  2. 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  3. *bonus add 2 tablespoons of honey for extra hydration*


After mixing all of these ingredients I placed it on my head with a shower cap for 45 minutes followed by washing with cool water.

For my face, I decided to try Soo AE purifying black charcoal mask (hydration + moisture sheet mask.)  Love the ingredients in this face mask it was different to try out and did leave my skin feeling moisturized and soft.

For my lips, I decided to try another DIY recipe: 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of raw sugar. It’s said to help reduce lip lines. I loved how supple and smooth my lips looked after trying. Not to mention how tasty.

For my eyes, I decided to do another DIY recipe: cucumber mint eye mask. The key is to place cucumber into a blender with mint and strain out the liquid place it on cotton pads and place them in your eye for 15-20 minutes. I loved this eye mask my eyes felt cool from the cucumber and mint.
