Mask Monday

Hello all, welcome back to another Mask Mondays. Today’s mask I wanted to try a DIY face mask that targets pores. Although I do not have large pores, I do notice some of them, especially around my nose and chin area.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • A splash/ squeeze of lemon juice (you can also use lime juice)

Egg whites and lemon have astringent properties that will tighten the skin and make enlarged pores shrink. The honey is an important ingredient in this recipe because it will boost your skin with moisture which is highly needed in these cold/ fall days.  My thoughts after trying this face mask were that I loved it 🙂 it truly does work my pores were pretty much non-existent and I did feel my skin a little tighter and brighter. Highly recommend this recipe.

For my hair, I decided to give my hair some extra tender loving care and go with a DIY hair mask which is great for my fellow curly hair ladies & gents.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Combine all the ingredients and blend them. It’s important to apply this mask in small sections to clean, damp hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap to seal the heat for 30-60 minutes then shampoo and condition your hair as usual.  I absolutely love this hair mask it made my hair feel a lot more hydrated my curls were frizz-free and I did not feel any greasy residue afterward. I highly recommend you all giving it a try and use every few weeks.

For my lips, I have been using a lip balm from Dr. Bronner’s organic peppermint. This leaves my lips feeling soft and hydrated.

This concludes my Mask Monday; I wish you all a great week. 🙂 As always, I thank you for stopping by.

Until next time! Have a great day

Mask Monday

Hello all 🙂 welcome back to another Mask Monday.

For my hair, I am using a deep repair masque by Macadamia. My hair is in desperate need of a deep conditioner and some repair. I recently went to the hair salon and the hairstylist mentioned my hair is on the more dryer side. She did do a minimum trim and recommended I look for more deep repair types of hair masks. And instead of doing them once a week to do it twice a week.

Macadamia masque smells amazing and has benefits which include providing deep nourishment and ultra-conditioning hair restoration, does not weigh your hair down. I left my masque for 10 minutes before rinsing it out with lukewarm water as mentioned in the packet.

For my face, I went with a blueberry and yogurt face mask- soothing cream facial mask which moisturizes and hydrates skin. This mask smells just like blueberries and has antioxidants which help your face in looking youthful and healthy.  I loved how easy it was put on my face.

I did get some recipes of healthier natural alternatives for hair and face masks in which I will be using starting next week (I have to pick some ingredients up). So, look out for my DIY natural face mask Mondays and how much I like them vs the ones I have purchased.

This concludes my face mask Monday, as always, I thank you all for stopping by.

Until next time,

Mask Monday

Welcome back to another Mask Monday 🙂 it’s officially starting to feel like Fall over here. Although I am missing summer, I am glad for Fall weather. However, what I wasn’t expecting is to see how much damage my hair has suffered in the summer months even with weekly hair masks.

For my hair, I decided to do a DIY hair mask for damaged hair: Olive oil and avocado hair mask. Olive oil is full of omega-3 fatty acids and it’s going to play an important role in my hair growth, shine and strengthening my hair. Avocado provides proteins and healthy fats which will promote overall healthy moisture to my damaged dry hair as well.

Ingredients are as follow:

  1. 1 ripe mashed avocado
  2. 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  3. *bonus add 2 tablespoons of honey for extra hydration*

After mixing all of these ingredients I placed it on my head with a shower cap for 45 minutes followed by washing with cool water.

For my face, I decided to try Soo AE purifying black charcoal mask (hydration + moisture sheet mask.)  Love the ingredients in this face mask it was different to try out and did leave my skin feeling moisturized and soft.

For my lips, I decided to try another DIY recipe: 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of raw sugar. It’s said to help reduce lip lines. I loved how supple and smooth my lips looked after trying. Not to mention how tasty.

For my eyes, I decided to do another DIY recipe: cucumber mint eye mask. The key is to place cucumber into a blender with mint and strain out the liquid place it on cotton pads and place them in your eye for 15-20 minutes. I loved this eye mask my eyes felt cool from the cucumber and mint.

This concludes this week’s Mask Monday.  I thank you for stopping by today and wish you all a great week.

Until next time!

Mask Monday

Welcome back to another Mask Monday!
This Monday’s masks are all about purifying and clarifying I also wanted to do a couple of DIY masks that I have been seeing around lately.

Face mask used: avocado and oatmeal purifying clay face mask. I love the smell of it nice and sweet. Love the mint green color I used it on my face, and going down my neck and chest area. After drying I washed it off and felt my skin tighter, smoother, softer and cleaner. Highly recommend this face mask which you could purchase at a local CVS.

For my hair mask I used a DIY hair mask:
Apple cider vinegar, lemon, avocado, and an egg white. After mixing all four items I let it sit on my hair for 40 minutes. Washing it off with cold water left my hair feeling clean and soft at the same time.

For my lips I used another DIY mask:
One little packet of brown sugar, 10 drops of lemon 1 teaspoon of honey. I exfoliated my lips. And used coconut oil afterward as a balm

For my eyes, I used two cucumber slices just to help depuff them.

This concludes this week’s Mask Monday. I hope you all have a wonderful week. May you find a day this week to relax, practice self-care. It’s important to our well being.

As always thank you for stopping by. Wishing you all the best.

Until next time!

Mask Monday

Hello, all welcome back to another blog 🙂 Mask Monday.

This past weekend has been a great humid weekend Jlots of humidity, heat, and rain. My hair has been frizzy, I did have a burnt scalp which has been really rough lately. My face has been doing really well as far as no breakouts, but it has been on the dry side. This week my goal was to add moisture into my face.

IMG_5960

IMG_5964

IMG_5963

For my hair, I decided to try a new product YES to Tea tree scalp relief- Soothing hair clay mask. I love this product. This is the only thing I tried that instantly fix my dryness and itchiness of my head due to being sunburnt. It also smoothed my hair and helped out with having my hair frizzy. Love the smell and a pretty green color.

For my face I decided to try JiinJU beauty 5 step travel kit- I came across this at a local CVS pharmacy. I found this kit to be perfect to try. Steps start with a cleansing oil (1), foaming face wash(2), a toner (3) and then you do the actual face mask for step four which was an avocado sheet mask (super moisture just as described in the mask.) after applying the sheet mask a hydrating cream is my fifth and final step. This Korean beauty product was by far a great experience a mini skincare routine which truly left my skin feeling fresh and moisturized.

For my lips, I used elf- lip exfoliating lip balm in the mint flavor. It definitely removed all the dead skin I had in my lips but also hydrated them as well.

My eyes were on the puffier side this Monday so to try and help treat it I decided to go with cucumber slices and place them in my eye area for 20 minutes. I did show improvement.

This sums up this week’s mask Monday. I hope you all enjoyed it and perhaps found something worth trying. As always, I thank you for stopping by today.

Have a great day until next time

Mask Monday

Hello, all welcome back to another blog 🙂 Mask Monday. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the weather. This past week my hair endured a lot of sun exposure. To say my hair feels as crispy as a KFC extra crispy I would be an understatement. Not only did my hair get exposed to hot summer sun heat but I also had gel which dried it even more. My skin has been taken a pretty severe burn as well this past week.

For my hair, I wanted to add more shine so I decided to go into my nearest Sally’s beauty and purchase a clear hair gloss which will help restore shine and soften my hair.

For my skin, I wanted to try and use a DIY lemon, this honey mask is supposed to be great on the skin.

For my lips, I am still doing Laneige’s Sleeping Lip mask since it’s been helping my lips.

Products I used:

Ion Color Brilliance Demi- Clear Shine

DIY face mask (1/2 lemon & Honey) mix very well before applying to face. *Make sure there are NO IRRITATION ON THE FACEprior to using*

Laneige Lip Sleeping mask

Clinique moisture surge overnight masque

Ion Color Brilliance Demi- Clear Shine-After mixing them and putting the product into my hair I kept it for 45 minutes and washed it out. My hair smelled amazing, I felt it extremely soft and it was shiny. This was my first time trying this at home and it was such a cool experience didn’t damage my hair at all.

DIY face mask-It was such a neat experience to try I loved how it did help brighten and soften my skin afterward. Will try with sugar next time to get a nice exfoliating mask done.

Laneige Lip Sleeping mask-One of my favorite lip products still am using it and enjoy its benefits.

Clinique moisture surge overnight masque- I have seen this overnight mask all over from Macy’s and even on Sephora I decided to purchase it and give it a try. I love how soft and supple your skin feels.

This mask Monday did come a day late I truly apologies between getting over a cold and also planning my son’s first birthday I have not had the time to post. But I am back 🙂 until next time.

As always thank you for stopping by see you in my next blog post.

Hello to all:) and welcome back to another Mask MondayI hope you all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the weather. This past week I finally managed to do my dye my hair just in time for upcoming birthdays and summer.

This week for my face I wanted to continue with hydration but also wanted to lightly remove impurities as well. I have been using makeup here and there and it’s been hot and humid sweat also happens and I want to prevent clogged pores. So, for this week I tried two different masks :).

For my hair this week I am still battling taming frizz since there has been a lot of humidity still (lots of rain in New York this past week). And now that my hair is color treated again some dryness has happened. I have decided to continue moisturizing mask but also dealing with color treated hair.

For my lips, I wanted to try a new hydrating and moisturizing lip mask.

Masks I used this Monday:

Nexxus New York Salon Care Humectress Ultimate Moisture Protein Complex Intensely hydrating mask.

Pixi T-Zone Peel Off Mask

WATERMELON Energizing Marshmallow Peel off

Oh K! Cherry Gel Lip mask

My final thoughts:

Nexxus New York Salon Care Humectress Ultimate Moisture Protein Complex Intensely Hydrating Masque- I love this mask it’s always been a favorite of mine and goes well when I dye my hair and need that extra moisture and hydration. As we all know using a hair developer for dying hair is a damaging process regardless if there is no ammonia, therefore, it’s important to hydrate your hair after dying it or color treating it.

Pixi T-Zone Peel Off Mask: This Mask is a great product to remove excess oil and dirt from your skin. It is pain-free and easy to use. The results leave your skin refreshed and glowing! I love using this I began trying it without expecting much since I thought I didn’t have a trouble area in my T-zone, yet I was wrong it removed everything. Lovely color too and smells pleasant.

WATERMELON Energizing Marshmallow Peel Off Mask- I love this product. It goes on my skin very smooth and light. It also smells good! This peel off mask came out smoothly and I didn’t break out smells great as well.

Oh K! Cherry Gel Lip mask: This lip mask was fun to try. It was very hydrating and smelled nice. I did pop it in the fridge a few minutes before using.

As always, I thank you for stopping by. Until next time!

 Have a great week.

Hello to all 🙂 and welcome back to another Mask Monday. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the lovely summer-like weather. Out here in New York City, we’ve officially been in warmer weather and I must say I am loving it.

This week for my face I wanted to add more moisture into my face. Now that the weather is getting warmer, being out in the sun its important for me and helps prevent aging. My face mask of choice had to be on the hydrating side.

For my hair this week I am still battling taming frizz since there has been a lot of humidity. I have read that the best way to tame frizz is by hydrating.

For my lips, I am excited to try Laneige’s Lip Sleeping mask. It’s gotten a lot of great reviews on Sephora which intrigued me.

Masks I used this Monday:

Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating face mask                                                               Pantene One step nourishing mask                                                                                       Lineige Lip Sleeping Mask

My final thoughts:

Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating face maskI decided to go with this face mask since it claims to be hydrating and a 100% hydrogel mask. And it truly does hydrate my skin. I LOVED that it had two separate sections an upper section and lower section making it easy to apply to my face. I truly recommend this to anyone looking to hydrate their face more.

Pantene One step nourishing mask- This mask truly does hydrate my hair I love the fact that it was easy to use. Worked amazing on my frizzy curls and even helped my damaged areas. After letting it air dry my hair wasn’t as frizzy either.

Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask- Absolutely in love with this lip product. It has become my go-to since trying it for the first time over the weekend. The scent is soft and gentle, and it is super moisturizing without being super sticky.

As always, I thank you all for stopping by. Until next time.

 Have a great week!

Mask Monday

Hello to all 🙂 welcome back to another blog post. Today I am back with another exciting Mask Monday with actual tips to all the moms out there with little to no time for themselves. You are welcome in advance! To those who aren’t mom’s no worries, you can try these tips too if you find yourself with little time and in desperate need of skin care love and attention.

So, for this, Mask Monday face mask I have a little back story. I remembered not too long ago during my bottle washing and disinfecting morning routine I played a YouTube video of a mommy blogger who had mentioned doing face masks in the shower which helped her save time but keep up with her skincare routine since she hasn’t been. I realized I have not been the best when it comes to keeping up with my skincare routine until recently, which why I even started Mask Monday on my blog to keep me going. I also thought what a genius idea similar to using hair masks yet on your face while you shower so you’re not using extra time and could do it without having to worry about rushing for the baby.

For my hair, I am still working on hydrating my curls and taming frizz it’s been raining a lot and I have noticed so much frizz.

For my lips, I am still working on exfoliating as well let’s be honest summer is right around the corner having dry and chapped lips isn’t cute. I found a recipe for a lip scrub and topped it with a lip mask afterward.

Masks I used this Monday are:

Que Bella Professional In shower Gel Face Mask

Lip scrub (brown sugar, coconut oil, and essential oil (optional) Miss Spa Deep Patch Hydration Facial Treatments

Pantene Intense Rescue Shots Ampoule

My final thoughts:

Que Bella Professional In shower Gel Face Mask-I absolutely love this gel mask it works amazing left my face feeling soft and smooth I recommend this product to everyone. This packet was good enough for three uses. *Tip use this right before getting into the shower with a clean face and what I normally do is brush my teeth for two minutes before getting into the shower. This would be a mask  I remove towards the end of my shower use it on neck and chest*

Lip scrub (brown sugar, coconut oil and essential oil lemon (optional)- I enjoyed this recipe and left my lips feeling soft and smooth I made sure I wasn’t as rough, and it did remove all the dead skin. *Tip use a small toothbrush to exfoliate better lightly not rough will promote blood flow as well. *

Miss Spa Deep Patch Hydration Facial Treatments- I REALLY liked this lip mask it did have no flavor, but it wasn’t bad as previous masks. *Tip I placed it in the fridge to keep it cool and took it out before using gave it a cooling effect after exfoliating. *

Pantene Intense Rescue Shots Ampoule- This mask truly lived up to its name “intense” it truly worked on my hair. I used it and felt it working as I was using it on my damaged frizzy hair. *Tip leave the mask on your hair as long as you can and rinse with cold water. Before getting out of the shower splash your hair with cold water to seal your hair cuticles.

Mask Mondays: Face, Lip, Hair Masks

Hello to all 🙂 welcome back to another blog post. I hope you all had an amazing weekend. We finally got some warm weather this weekend and took complete advantage of it.

For today’s Mask Monday I knew I wanted to try a face mask that had some sort of an exfoliant in its ingredient since I did use make up once this past weekend and since it’s always good to remove dead skin in order to promote healthy and fresh looking skin.

For my hair, I was in serious need of deep conditioning it and trying to find a way to tame my frizzy curls and help the new postpartum hair growth coming back. ( Yes, after you have your baby you do lose hair 🙂 you’re welcome in case no one ever told you.)

For the lips, I also wanted to do an exfoliating  type of balm this week

Since I was going to use a scrub mask I decided to do a sleeping mask

Masks I used this week are:

Charcoal and black sugar dual-action scrub facial mask (purchased at CVS)

Sauce beauty: Deep moisture mask guacamole whip avocado, argan oil, and monoi oil (purchased at Sally’s beauty)

Revlon Exfoliating balm- Sugar Mint (purchased at Target)

Watermelon Glow: Sleeping Mask (purchased at Sephora)

My thoughts on the products after trying them:

Charcoal and black sugar: love this face mask it did feel warm to the touch as I scrubbed my face. After use, my face did feel soft and smooth.

Sauce beauty deep moisture mask: It truly was a hair mask I noticed a change in just one try and although it says to use 2-3 times a week you will notice a significant change after using it once. My curls felt soft and I did notice a drastic change with the frizz.

Revlon Kiss: I have been loving it this balm leaves my lips feeling smooth and hydrating they do have sugar which exfoliates yet melts with the balm. There’s no need to wipe off and the balm lasts for a few hours.

Watermelon Glow: It’s a pretty cool texture too bouncy gel- cream. Applies smoothly and absorbs quickly to the skin. Left my skin feeling very soft.

That’s all for this week’s Mask Monday. Thank you for stopping by. 🙂

As always I wish you all a great week!
